The Beyonce pregnancy rumors are intensifying. A source close to the Knowles family claims that the Grammy-winner's April 4th wedding to Jay-Z was a shotgun affair, telling Chicago Sun Times entertainment columnist Bill Zwecker, "Like her sister, there is no way Beyonce is going to face her fans as an unwed mother... That's just not part of who she is." Beyonce's younger sister Solange got pregnant with her son and married football player Daniel Smith at age 17. They are now divorced. An additional source tells Life and Style, "Beyonce is pregnant! She's thrilled and ready to be a mother." The magazine also reports that at a recent bash in New York, the singer "kept her tummy concealed" and drank only water. Beyonce's rep told us she has no comment. --Jamila Daniel

Mary Wilson says The Supremes' stylish gowns were more than just a fashion statement. Now visiting England, where an exhibition of the Hall of Fame trio's famed stage outfits is opening, she tells The Independent of London that the group's look was a landmark in black consciousness. "I've had Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg both say to me, personally, that seeing the Supremes on The Ed Sullivan Show made them recognize that, hey, maybe I could do that too. It seems that we inspired people to see what they could become. It wasn't something that was a given, then -- to be black and know that you could make it."
While Motown managed the Supremes career, Mary says they made their own fashion decisions. "People think we had the look imposed on us. No, we did that. We went to Saks Fifth Avenue and bought what we wanted. We were the kind of girls who always played dress-up. We had an idea of what was class, and we'd take the clothes to Motown and they were wise enough to understand that, yeah, it was a little different from all the others. It was our little ace card." --Mike McCann
